Is it possible slicing directly on repetier server without a connected host ?

Thanks .

mjpg streamer crashes after several hours - also with latest raspi image and 0.85 repetier server

i am frustrated that the linux mjpg streamer keeps crashing on my raspberry controlled reprap type 3d printer with current and earlier ubuntu version and repetier-server images. mjpgstreamer always works well for a few hours and then it stops working.

as my first workaround i added a cron-job to restart mjpgserver every hour, but then also this stops working after a day or two. must have something to do with leaking system resources or so.

because I use an old surface pro 2 as touch-device alongside my 3d printer, i have created a Windows 10 UWP MJPEGStreaming app. It works stable so far for days streaming my ELP1080p fisheye camera through the raspi based repetier server. The app is available here https://github.com/flyinggorilla/MJPEG-Streamer-Universal-Windows-App. I used for the app the ExendedExecutionUnrestricted mode so the app will run also when the Win 10 lock screen turns on or the app is minimized. This brings the key caveat that it wont be permitted in the MS appstore. So you will need to build it yourself and deploy in dev mode. (or i share my build on request)

Hope that might help someone.

If someone else finds a solution to the crashing Linux mjpgstreamer on Raspi II then I would be happy too.

flyinggorilla

Connect repetier server to another repetier server

Would LOVE to start using  repetier to replace octopi. But I can NOT figure out how to connect repetier server on my raspberry pi's to the repetier server on my windows 10 Install.
I have a windows 10 I7 64 GB of ram I want to use as the main repetier server. The only image for a raspberri pi is a repetier server, not the host. So I installed repetier server on the Pi and it is communicating with the marlin firmware on the printer. I can NOT figure out how to make my main repetier server install communicate with the Pi???
I have found many guides on host to server and I can accomplish this if the host is on a windows machine, but I would REALLY like to use my Pi's if possible.
Thank You.

Heatbed Temperatur on Prusa i3 MK3

Hi
I'm testing Repetier Server at the moment. Mostly everything works, but the heatbed temepratur isn't read by Repetier Host. It's show always 0°C - even when the heatbed is working and the LCD shows 60/60°C.
Any idea, whats wrong?

Connect Repetier Server to Klipper firmware

Is it possible to connect the Repetier Server to a Klipper firmware?
Short description:
"Klipper is a new experimental firmware! It is designed to run on both a micro-controller and a low cost host computer such as a Raspberry Pi. The host does all the work of determining how and when to move each stepper motor, it compresses that information, and sends it to the micro-controller. The micro-controller then uncompresses the given schedule and executes it at the specified times. The same host computer can be used to run both Klipper and OctoPrint."
https://github.com/KevinOConnor/klipper

I succesfully run it with OctoPrint but Repetier Server has much much better Touch UI and many other nice features.

In OctoPrint I added specific serial port in "Additional serial ports" section - named /tmp/printer. And OctoPrint "talks" to the firmware through it.

I asked the developer of Klipper to integrate it with Repetier and he answered me next:
"In order to replace OctoPrint, you'll need to convince the Repetier Server software to connect to /tmp/printer. (Only the Klipper host software talks directly with the micro-controller - Repetier Server needs to talk directly with the Klipper host software via /tmp/printer.)"
I tried manually change the Device / Port in connection tab to /tmp/printer but the Repetier Server didn't connect it.

May you suggest me what can I do to fix it.
I would like to combine two great products :)

Kind regards,
Alex

Change Filament at Height

HI there. I have a Creality CR-10S with Marlin 1.1.7 from Printed Solid and have been using Repetier-Server successfully for a while.
Yesterday I was trying to change filament mid print (to change color) but I got into a bug which I am not sure where it lies.
Using Cura 3.1 I setup a Post-Processing Script in the G-Code to Change filament at Height and when the printer reaches the layer number I set, it retracts the filament fine, then I change the filament, and then it extrudes nicely, but when it goes back to the print to resume, it goes into a infinite loop wanting me to change the filament again.
Repetier-Server does not see the printer paused on anything and there are no messages on the screen So I am wondering if the problem is repetier itself?
Anyone has any insight?

Lots of comm timeouts -- but printing continues seemingly uninterrupted

Hi. I'm suddenly noticing piles of communications errors in the log. I'm unsure when this began, since I haven't been monitoring the log carefully and printing does not *appear* to be affected -- at least not yet. This is using repetier-server on Linux connected to the printer via the same short, shielded USB cable I've been using all along, and a reasonably stable build of repetier dev firmware. These seem to routinely appear every minute or two, though longer gaps without them can occur especially in the early phases of a print. Again, this does not appear to actually be affecting the printer in any obvious way so far -- and perhaps it's been going on for quite some time before I noticed it -- but I'm not getting a warm fuzzy feeling from seeing so many timeouts, and any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks very much!

Example:

How do I create an account for repetier server

I configured a new password using ssh and an ethernet cable. I went in my browser and went the ip address for my server and configured my pi 3 to connect over wifi. I went to the new ip to connect again and it asks for username and password. I can't find anything about registering for an account so I can log into my server.

Configuring for External Connection

Having issues connecting from an external network. I have tried adding a port forward in my router as the guide suggests. However it gives the example of "map port 2000 to 192.168.0.22". My router only lets me map to 192.168.1.6 instead of 192.168.1.6:3344. I have tried entering my external ip of (example, not my actual ip) 170.143.25.24:2000 on my mobile device on a cellular network. No connection.

Please advise.

Anycubic I3 Mega- Connection on Pi not possible

Hi there,

Yesterday I installed the Repetier Server on Windows - printing worked.
Today I wanted to install it on a raspi, so I took the newest image from the website and "installed" it...

The Webserver is running and also detecting the printer, but either Auto - Bautrate or the bautrate which worked on the Win Laptop don't work.

I installed updates and rebooted then again, but that doesn't help. I get the error:

"Keine verständliche Antwort. Überprüfen sie Bautrate und Firmware."
Translated: No understandable answer. Check bautrate and firmware.

As firmware i set Marlin, which worked on the Win Laptop...

Anyone a idea?

I've seen other images where this is the case but not for me in 0.86.2.  I have to use tabs to choose one or the other.

Change mjpg-streamer settings in the raspi image- add user/password

Hi,

I'm using the repetier-server raspi image and I have the webcam externally available.
Problem is I can't find way to alter the mjpg-streamer startup params as I'd like to enable to option to ask for username/password.

Is there a file where that is stored and can be edited?
Previously I had my own custom raspi image and I could easily make this change.

Thanks

Run touch screen calibration with Pi version?

Having very poor touch calibration issues with my VERY cheap HDMI LCD that connects via GPIO pins.

At the bottom of their guide they say how to install the utility, but I'm not sure how I can launch it? Any tips? Seems I'll need to launch it via Putty? But I'm not sure how....

Here is the documentation: https://github.com/UCTRONICS/UCTRONICS_LCD35_HDMI_RPI

Maybe I can add/modify a button to launch the calibration tool? Any help would be appriciated!

Rotate Raspberry Pi screen image

I am using the server software on a raspberry pi 3 touch screen. It works great, however the screen is upside down. Can I rotate it anywhere in the settings? I can remount the screen, but don't really want to do that. Is it somewhere in the terminal application I can do this?

Thanks very much.

Why would all completed jobs show failed in repetier-server?

I do have an execute command to shut off printer but it is after the job is done.  Does this have something to do w/ the buffer not being completely cleared before shutting down?  Each of these jobs (Some duplicated) completed successfully.

Time Lapse on Repetier-Server 0.70.0 on Raspberry Pi

I've got Repetier-server set up and it's capturing images from mjpeg-streamer. I can step through them in the web interface. However the time lapse videos it lists in the interface are zero byte and won't play. I have ffmpeg installed, but is there a certain plugin I should be using or a setting I need to update to get it to generate proper time lapse videos? Is there a way to test or a log fine I could look at to see what's happening? Any help getting me pointed in the right direction would be appreciated..

Thanks!

Communications Timeout after several hours of printing.

$

Hello,

I have been having timeout issues with a Tevo printer using the MKS-Base 1.5 board. Prints will run for 15 min to an hour or two before timing out with no communications errors in the logs at all, until the timeout issue occurs. I have tested with firmware version 0.92 that shipped with the printer, and 1.0.1, same errors on both.

The printer is connected to a Raspberry Pi 3, running repetier server version 0.86.2, and for testing octoprint for rasberry pi has also been tried with the exact same results.

The printer also has issues printing from SD card, it will get part way though the file and hang up and fail to complete the print.

The confusing part is that the printer will print flawlessly when connected to a windows 10 laptop running Repetier-host and printing over USB.

What has been tried:

All testing in repeteir-server, octoprint, and the windows 10 laptop have been done with the exact same Gcode file. Since it works without error on the windows 10 laptop, i don't think its a code issue with the file. It also errors out at different places each time also leading me to think there is not a problem with the file since that should cause the errors at the exact same completion percentage each time.

3 different USB cables including two with ferite cores. All three cables worked flawlessly with the windows laptop.

Multiple COM port speeds between 250000, 115200, and 9600.

Two different power supplies for the printer, and two different power supplies for the Raspberry. The most recent test was using a quite large ATX power supply, the 12 volt rail driving the printer, and the RaspberryPi connected to the 5 volt rail so that the printer, and rasberry Pi had a common negative to avoid any voltage differences from separate PSU's.

Timeout values have been increased in the printer firmware, but these timeouts are occurring on very short commands, on small parts. Most commands are a fraction of a second to actually complete as you will be able to see form the logs.

Log file showing the errors that I am getting. This is around line 80,000 in the log file, and around layer 100ish in the print so it gets quite far before acting up.

Any suggestions to try would be appreciated, I have been working on this for several weeks now and its driving me nuts.

Rep server Image does not fit to 4Gb SD card

Am I the only one by whom the repetier server for respberry pi 0.86.2 v7 does not fit to 4Gb SD card? On linux mint  I have tried Ethcer, USB image writer, termianl unzip | dd command -> always not enough space. Obviously the card was freshly formatted.
Should I do something special or the image does not fit to 4 Gb anymore?
Thank you.
